Why do the candidates have party affiliations under their names on the ballot?

School board candidates are permitted to cross-file during the primary because this position is considered NON-PARTISAN so don't be fooled by party designations. UD United candidates are truly a non-partisan. We are independent thinkers working together for change.

Learn the positions of the UD United candidates to make it easier for you on voting day. Take the trouble, fill in the bubbles! Sample ballot below. Notice, positions of the UDU candidates are different depending on whether you are a registered Democrat or Republican. All candidates "Cross File" regardless of registration because school board is not supposed to be political. The ballot positions are randomly pulled by Montgomery County Voter Services.
